2020 One Model A Week - W01 (7)

Year to date status

  • Models bought (YTD) : 0
  • Allowed to buy : 6
  • Models painted total : 7 (+7)
  • Models painted this week : 7
  • Models owed : 0
  • Successful weeks : 1
  • Failed weeks : 0

New stats may be added over time to reflect what I am actually getting done (or not done as life intervenes)

Suggestions for new statistics are also welcome - catch me on twitter. I am also open to new painting goals or other ideas. Really anything that may see me getting more stuff done.

Challenge accepted

My grand nephew challenged me to do one model a week for 2020 (#onemodelaweek) and because I am a procrastinating lazy sod I chose to accept.

The Rules

The rules are as follows:

  • One model must be painted by the end of sunday each week
  • You can't paint ahead
  • If you miss a week, you need to paint two models the next week
  • Bases need not be done (I tend to do a lot of basing finishing in bulk)
  • May only buy new miniatures up to the amount I have painted minus 20 (to always have more painted than I buy) (1)
  • Backing kickstarters with miniatures does not count against the purchase limit.

I am still very much out of practice, my eyes seems to deteriorate by the day when it comes to miniature painting. And somehow all my 28mm miniatures seems to have shrunk to 6mm size - go figure.

Nonetheless I hope the constant painting will mean I get better and that this then will help battling these v4.9 eyes.

(1) Formula goes like this - allowed model purchase = painted models - 20 - already bought models.

Paint proof (1/53)

  • 7 Vikings/babarians

They are most definately not the best I have made. Some of them were base painted with a grey paint that made them all sticky and had the opposite effect. Also I am learning to paint using the Army Painter paints that feels different than the Vallejo I am used to.

nullpainter

Call me the nullpainter. As in, I really do not get a lot of painting done these days. This blog is made so I can keep track of what I actually DO get painted.
