Whoops!!!

Pig Iron Productions wrote back to me that the Kolony Militia demi-platoon was back in stock. I had to jump at the chance to getting enough of it properly painted before Vejle-Con so by pure accident (not quite sure what happened really) I had purchased the demi-platoon, the veteran squad and one little alien thingy I wanted to check out.

And thus I ended up being 12 painted models short of what I needed to be "allowed" to purchase more. On top of that, I still need a single model for this week, så 13 models in all.

So what can a man do eh?. Paint them up the missing miniatures this week of course. This is written on Monday. If I don't make the 12 models by Sunday this week I will probably add another 5 models to the limit of 20.

I know it is a bit empty as I can (and just did) break the rules when I want to, but the goals do help.

But amidst all this misery (and first world problems) the thing is - I have enough metal coming in to build two or three crews for Zona Alfa. I am also putting together my Battle Systems Post Apocalyptic terrain together so I have something to fight over.

Monday

So here is what I have in the queue starting today, Monday.

And my camera skills with the phone still sucks. The minis are actually beginning to look better and better in real life. It seems like painting every week is helping me improve.

Wednesday

I have been working on this wizard since sometime last week and finally got him done. He is less colorful than the previous ones, but I figure he is a traveling wiz of some kind.

The demon got started this Monday. I am not that good at big models so I kinda feared to start it. But I quickly found a red tone I liked and for some odd reason getting the black stuff on him look good wasn't that difficult. Add some washes here and there, the odd red, orange, grey drybrush and a set of yellow eyes and here he is.

Status by Wednesday is that I have painted 2 out of 13 models needed this week.

Thursday

More stuff is done, mainly some mixed terrain items. An alien/dragon egg, cannonballs and powder, inscribed stone, parts of a broken statue and a maw beast.

Status by Thursday is that I have painted 7 out of 13 models needed this week. I am slowly running out of prepped models - some of those I have left is not so easy for me to paint. Thus I have begun finding new models from my extensive pile of unpainted miniatures.

First up is some nuclear devices - probably from Nemesis or some other boardgame. The next will be some civilians, hostages and two female operators from Spectre Miniature. All will be used in games like Zona Alfa.

Saturday

Sooo - things are shaping up just fine. 7 Models finished today, thus I am 1 above the needed number. Huzzaz. But alas! Mantic is having a free shipping weekend so I am planning on getting the goblin reinforcement pack. I need the archer for a character.

This means I am still below numbers - I need to paint two more if I want to buy the pack this week-end ... oh the self-imposed problems one can find.

Sunday

Alright - I managed to paint what I owed + the miniature from this week. My most productive week yet. The three vargheist have been waiting for me to paint them for so long now that I almost thought it would never happen. I would have loved to get their faces more clean with some black contrast in the crevasses, but they turned out ok I think.
